Q Lawns brings recession beating tips to customers
Approximately 50 turf users joined Q Lawns at Lynford Hall in Norfolk recently for a series of seminars on keeping businesses buoyant during the economic downturn.
Speakers included Pete Buchanan from Perceptions Coaching who offered tips on building strong business relationships with suppliers and customers; Rebecca Elsey and Gary Lovelock from Q Lawns explored ways of maximising sales opportunities and Paul Cowell from BALI gave a very entertaining talk on the benefits of networking and gave listeners some imaginative ideas for promoting their business in new ways.
After Lunch, Q Lawns’ Angela Lambert drew attention to Enviromat Sedum Matting. One of Enviromat’s many applications is the creation of living green roofing, which is rising in popularity despite the recession. Q Lawns’ have created a CD ROM to help unravel the mysteries of green roofing. The CDROM is free of charge and available from Angela on 01842 828266
Brian Walker, Q Lawns’ turf despatch manager, who claims to have survived three recessions, assured everyone that the market would pick up in time. Brian thanked delegates for their positive feedback and enthused about the high quality of Q Lawn and RTF grades of turf now ready for harvest.
The day ended with a question and answer session with web developer Philip Rakusen, Haulier Jason Snook, Q Lawns’ owner Stuart Ridd-Jones and Sales Manager Chris Carr.
Afterwards, Chris Carr commented “This is the first time we’ve organised an event like this and I have to say it’s been very useful for customers and for staff. Certainly it’s been very helpful to find out what others are doing to try to remain profitable in the current economic climate”
